The Small Group Difference

Why Small Groups Work

The small group model has long been recognised as one of the most effective formats for skill development in children. Here is why families choose this approach.

The Benefits

πŸ‘₯

Peer Modelling

Children observe and learn from one another, reinforcing skills in a natural, social context.

🎯

Shared Goals

A unifying sense of purpose increases motivation and engagement across the group.

πŸ†

Healthy Competition

Peers inspire one another to try harder and celebrate each other's progress.

🀝

Friendship Building

Structured social interaction creates genuine opportunities for lasting connection.

πŸ’°

Cost Accessibility

Group-sharing pricing makes multi-disciplinary support more affordable for families.

πŸ“…

Reduced Scheduling Burden

One session delivers the input of multiple professionals simultaneously.

How Our Programs Work

01

Small by Design

Maximum 6 children per group ensures meaningful attention for every child.

02

Structured Sessions

Warm-up, two focused activities, short breaks, and a group reflection every session.

03

Progress Updates

Families receive a term summary, with an optional end-of-program report on request.

04

Flexible Formats

Programs run as term-based weekly sessions or as holiday intensive blocks.

Small Groups complement ongoing 1:1 sessions, but can also be a standalone skills-building option for your child.

Group size: Max 6 children

Starting school is one of the biggest transitions in a child's life β€” and the weeks leading up to it matter more than many parents realise. The School Ready Group is an intensive holiday version of our popular termly Ready, Set, School! program, designed to give children aged 3.5 to 5.5 years a confident, well-rounded head start. Led by our multi-disciplinary team, each 2.5-hour session immerses children in purposeful, play-based learning that targets the full spectrum of school readiness skills β€” social, emotional, sensory, communication, and academic foundations.

Brilliant Writer's Club

Brilliant Writer's Club

Holiday Intensive Β· Years 3–6 (approx. 8–12 years)

Help your child find their voice on the page β€” and love writing in the process.

Duration: 1 hr per session

Sessions: Staggered at 10:15am Β· Individual sessions (Tue–Sat each week)

Group size: Max 6 students

Most children have no shortage of ideas β€” the challenge is getting those ideas onto the page in a way that is structured, purposeful, and engaging. The Brilliant Writer's Club is a holiday intensive version of our termly Write On! Writing Workshop, designed for students in Years 3 to 6. Over the holiday program, sessions focus on two foundational text types β€” Narrative and Informative writing β€” giving children the time to go deep rather than wide. Drawing on evidence-based methods including Talk for Writing and explicit text-type instruction, children leave each session with a completed piece they are genuinely proud of. The full range of five text types (including Persuasive, Opinion, and Creative) is covered across our termly Write On! program.

Learning Objectives

  • βœ“Understanding and applying the structures of Narrative and Informative text types
  • βœ“Constructing well-organised paragraphs with clear topic sentences
  • βœ“Improving sentence variety, vocabulary choice, and descriptive language
  • βœ“Editing and refining writing for clarity, audience, and purpose
  • βœ“Building a positive, confident attitude towards writing tasks

Brilliant Writer's Club

Brilliant Writer's Club

Holiday Intensive Β· Years 6–8 (approx. 11–14 years)

For older students ready to take their writing from competent to confident.

Duration: 1 hr 15 min per session

Sessions: Option A: 12:30–1:45pm (Priority 1) Β· Option B: 2:30–3:45pm (Priority 2)

Group size: Max 6 students

As students move into upper primary and early secondary, writing demands shift significantly. Essays, analytical responses, and persuasive pieces require a sophisticated command of structure, argument, and language. The Brilliant Writer's Club G6–G8 is a holiday intensive for older students ready to take their writing to the next level β€” the advanced counterpart to our termly Write On! Writing Workshop. Students work in a small, focused group to develop the skills that separate competent writers from confident ones: constructing a clear, sustained argument; using evidence effectively; and writing with a distinct, purposeful voice.

Learning Objectives

  • βœ“Constructing and sustaining a coherent argument in persuasive and analytical writing
  • βœ“Applying appropriate text structures for essays, reports, and creative responses
  • βœ“Developing vocabulary, syntax, and stylistic range for academic and creative contexts
  • βœ“Using evidence, examples, and elaboration to strengthen written responses
  • βœ“Editing for cohesion, precision, and impact

Give your child the tools to decode and spell with confidence.

Duration: 1 hr per session

Sessions: 9:00am sessions Β· Fri–Sat (Week 1) Β· Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri (Week 2)

Group size: Max 6 students

Reading and spelling are not just school subjects β€” they are the gateway to everything else your child learns.
